Well its been a while since I last posted and though I believed it to be my last post, I honestly cant get away from this site. Though it may not be the best blog out there on the subject of dreaming and altered forms of consciousness, I still get something from posting on this site. Call it a calling, a motivation, or something to push me to explore the realm of what ever this is we experience, I cant seem to stop. Its became a part of me, or I guess my religion.
Recently I have been reading the book Lucid Dreaming: Gateway to the Inner Self by Robert Waggoner which has turned out to be one of the most inspirational books on lucid dreaming for me. It gave me a reason to really want to try to lucid dream and unravel the meanings behind it. Though his book doesn't really provide us a "how to" guide into the realm of lucid dreaming, it does give us a view into what is possible in the lucid dream. The biggest thing is that he describes a state of understanding in the lucid dream called the "white light dream". He also referenced in book in his writings called The Tibetan Yogas of Dream and Sleep by Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche and Mark Dahlby which I also started to read and really enjoy. Unlike the book by Robert, Tenzin's book does tell people how to lucid dream through the Tibetan teachings. In the review of the book so far, it seems that most lucid dream guides follow the same techniques as taught in this book but sell them off as their own teachings. It seems that I too have accidentally come to the same conclusion as this book as been teaching but my techniques were very random and mostly of me trying to figure out what works and doesnt work. I have been working this last semester on writing a paper for a professor of mine on the outcomes of lucid dreaming both positive and negatives and a realistic easy to follow guide on how to do it. I will also focus on why these techniques may work backed up with previous reading. Stay tuned for that paper to be completed (I hope) after thanksgiving... either that or I may get a poor review.
yah! - I knew you couldn't stay away...
