I had lucid dream lately that was Interesting enough for me to post here. Though I think all dreams are Interesting, some just seem to push the boundaries of insightfulness.
I have been reading a book on lucid dreaming and though I wouldn't say it has been increasing the amount of lucid dreams have, it surely has changed the content. In the dream I became lucid and though the setting of the dream was strangely just a bunch of symbols, it provided me with answers to questions I have been having. The dream was more emotional than anything and allowed me to interact not with what I would call my sub conscious, but more of the personalities that are called me.
I read often that during certain experiences people experience what they call as ego death, and though I was dreaming I managed to find out that maybe this idea is not true. In the dream I saw my personalities each with their own beautiful form but never intermixing and completely different. I have three according to my dream, and the ego is just the observed ideal of me through which I see these personalities. To put it in understandable terms, it was like each personality was a snow globe with it's own dreamworld of events and experiences, and if a glass surrounded these three globes, that glass would be the idea of an ego. Interesting concept for a dream I know. It made me think about ego death and how maybe this death is just the realization that ego never existed in the first place?
I also had the chance to asked the dream what the meaning of all was, the idea of enlightenment. The "director" said, "the purpose of it all, enlightenment and life, is to understand there is no purpose/ enlightenment. Though this sounds rather disappointing for those who have searched for long periods of time for such destinations, I honestly believe that some truth can be taken from those words. That life is about the now, not some extravagant search into questions that reach no end. Life is about accepting yourself and the understanding that you are wonderful and there is much more to us then simply the ego and them (as in other people or our subconcuouse ideals), and we have a great capacity to accept those around us and ourselves.
I woke up from the dream feeling rather refreshed and at peace with myself and the world around me and hope that this feeling last for as long as I live. I find it funny that people sometimes say how dreams could ever be worth anything after this experience into lucidity.

paranormal activity 2
I just got done watching the movie Paranormal Activity 2 and I must say that it was a little scary of a movie. I don't really think it was scary because of the effects but mostly because of two instances of what seemed like sleep paralysis that happened in the movie. It was interesting to see the ties it had to that but I warn you, it wasn't much. It was most certainly a movie worth the cheep thrills for a chair jumping experience that will get you sweating a little before you sleep.

Sleep Paralysis: A Guide to Hypnagogic Visions and Visitors of the Night
Ryan Hurd over at sleepstudies.org recently released his new book about sleep paralysis, on amazon. Its a great book and can help a lot of people who have experience with sleep paralysis or would like to learn more about it. Here is a review I wrote for his book:

I have sent a lot of my life learning about night terrors and what they are. I have come to understand that night terrors as well as sleep paralysis can be minimized without medication. Ryan's book is the only easy to understand and easy to follow guides to understanding and dealing with these experiences. Ryan not only talks about the disorders in the prospective of a sleep professional but also has first hand experiences of the events himself. He ties in his personal accounts as well as others experiences into his book, making it more meaningful and personal. I have recommended Ryan's book to many different clinical psychologist who deal with sleep disorders and have referenced the book in a number of papers. This book is a must read for those who experience sleep paralysis or night terrors or have children who do. It will give you a new level of understanding that you wont get from a doctor who has never experienced these events.

Psychotropia
I have been working on a new project for a while now. I call it Psychotropia, and its a list of as many plants, fungi, and animals that I can get my hands on and that has some type of affect on nervous system. Its hardly closet to being complete but its starting to come to life. I hope you all would take the time to check out the "plant portal" and post what you think about it.
You can also join pyshcotropia on twitter and get new updates when ever a new item is added!

Dmt the spirit molecule
I dont know about any of you but I am pretty excited about the release of the new documentary that is to be released this month. Dmt the spirit molecule has proven to be one of the most informative documentary about DMT and its affects on the people who have taken it. I don't know much about the video itself but I have personally pre-ordered it and soon to be watching it come the 26th of this month. I will make sure to provide a good review for all to read!

Back in the Saddle again
Well its been a while since I last posted and though I believed it to be my last post, I honestly cant get away from this site. Though it may not be the best blog out there on the subject of dreaming and altered forms of consciousness, I still get something from posting on this site. Call it a calling, a motivation, or something to push me to explore the realm of what ever this is we experience, I cant seem to stop. Its became a part of me, or I guess my religion.
Recently I have been reading the book Lucid Dreaming: Gateway to the Inner Self by Robert Waggoner which has turned out to be one of the most inspirational books on lucid dreaming for me. It gave me a reason to really want to try to lucid dream and unravel the meanings behind it. Though his book doesn't really provide us a "how to" guide into the realm of lucid dreaming, it does give us a view into what is possible in the lucid dream. The biggest thing is that he describes a state of understanding in the lucid dream called the "white light dream". He also referenced in book in his writings called The Tibetan Yogas of Dream and Sleep by Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche and Mark Dahlby which I also started to read and really enjoy. Unlike the book by Robert, Tenzin's book does tell people how to lucid dream through the Tibetan teachings. In the review of the book so far, it seems that most lucid dream guides follow the same techniques as taught in this book but sell them off as their own teachings. It seems that I too have accidentally come to the same conclusion as this book as been teaching but my techniques were very random and mostly of me trying to figure out what works and doesnt work. I have been working this last semester on writing a paper for a professor of mine on the outcomes of lucid dreaming both positive and negatives and a realistic easy to follow guide on how to do it. I will also focus on why these techniques may work backed up with previous reading. Stay tuned for that paper to be completed (I hope) after thanksgiving... either that or I may get a poor review.
