You know you...Scot,

Thanks always for your comments! You know your supplements for sure. I really should look back into the life span of the 5-htp but I agree with you that supressing the REM is ideal way of having that rebound at the end of the night. I think your idea into taking 2 5-htp during the night to supress REM until later in sleep and taking a Ach type supplement to help the dream process. This testing will be sure on my lists of things to do.

I just started to use the myzeo and from the looks of my "normal" sleep processes I'll be a perfect subject to see how much REM I can push tell the end of the night. If you want you can look at my charts and see what I mean.

Thanks for your info and I'll incorporate it into my paper.adminnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-536455483197919928.post-56649406031705734452010-11-19T03:29:22.000-08:002010-11-19T03:29:22.000-08:00I appreciate you for making this thing public. Every supplement has a peak plasma and elimination half-life that has been determined experimentally. These values have some variability based on the persons metabolism, but the typical values are a good start for timing. In the article it states that 5HTP is something that can be taken 5 minutes before WBTB. I think this is risky based on the reported half-life and peak plasma of the 5-HTP. With a peak plasma time of 90 minutes it would act to suppress your next REM period. Now, that could cause some strong rebound in a later cycle, but that depends on your reaction to the dosage. Or, it could essentially ruin your REM the rest of the sleep period…not good. Taking 5-HTP at bedtime is preferred because it suppresses REM (~1 hour worth) during a time when it is occurring between delta cycles and no LDs typically happen. A supplement that could extend REM in the periods after that would be great. Other than rebound there is not much more you can do. One possibility is to take 5-HTP at bedtime, then again at WBTB after 3 hours of sleep. The effect would essentially suppress almost 2 hours of REM sleep or your first 4.5 REM periods. Along with the 5-HTP at WBTB, take Huperzine-A (an AChEI), which peaks in almost 84 minutes. That is about the time of the 6th REM period. I have never tried this, but IN THEORY, the REM rebound would be *enormous* in the 6th REM period, and combined with a boost of ACh, an LD is almost a done deal. Now, with a Zeo, this extended REM suppression idea could be measured to see if it works.

Very Best,

Scot StrideScot Stridenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-536455483197919928.post-56901309928677460632010-11-18T11:48:08.000-08:002010-11-18T11:48:08.000-08:00Hello.
